Suntiva Named As One Of The Healthiest Employers By Washington Business Journal

FALLS CHURCH, VA, August 20, 2014...Suntiva, a trusted advisor to leaders in achieving their most critical business outcomes, announced its selection by the Washington Business Journal as one of the Top 50 Healthiest Employers in Greater Washington for 2014. The Healthiest Employers Award recognizes the Washington region’s top 50 healthiest employers based on a wide range of factors to include creating a great workplace wellness program and emphasizing the importance of health.
This selection marks the second time that Suntiva’s Wellness Program has been recognized by the Washington Business Journal. In 2011, Suntiva had the honor of being selected as the second healthiest employer in its category across the entire Washington region.
Suntiva’s Wellness Program inspires employees to improve all aspects of their health and fitness while encouraging flexibility as it relates to work/life balance. Suntiva’s core value “Embody Great Minds, Great Hearts” serves as the foundation for the Wellness Program. “We at Suntiva believe in 360 degrees of wellness. Striving to improve all aspects of our health and wellness enriches our lives,” said John Rock, Suntiva’s Wellness Coach.
Strong commitment from the Suntiva leadership team paired with encouragement, education, and direction from the Wellness Team enables Suntiva’s employees to drive their own wellness goals. “One of the many things that sets Suntiva apart is our genuine commitment to our employees, the whole employee --body and mind,” says Hany Malik, Suntiva CEO and founder. “Suntiva is always thinking of ways to help our employees take better care of their health, and this award is a wonderful recognition of this commitment.”
The Healthiest Employers Award program was developed to recognize organizations that are dedicated to creating a healthy workplace with initiatives to promote the health and well-being of employees. Companies are selected based on the results of a free survey created by medical professionals, higher education professionals, human resource directors, non-for-profit, and government communities from across the United States. The assessment is comprised of 75 scored questions based on the following categories of workplace wellness: culture and leadership commitment, foundational components, strategic planning, communication and marketing, programming and interventions, reporting and analysis.
An announcement of the event, and list of the winners, can be found on the Washington Business Journal web site. The ranking of each finalist will be announced at the Healthiest Employers awards luncheon on September 18, 2014 at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, DC.
