David Acton is a seasoned CFO for government contractors with over twenty years of progressive experience in helping companies grow. Since 2013 he’s played an essential role in Suntiva’s strategic goal of increasing federal sector business, particularly with his broad knowledge of pricing, contract proposals, negotiating and winning contracts, post-award performance, and managing financial profitability. He possesses extensive financial and management expertise including corporate accounting system controls, compliance, and standards for government contracting. His background includes Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) reporting and a detailed knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS). He has also implemented internal control processes proven effective in audits performed by the Defense Contract Audit Agency and external accounting firms. David has a proven track record in helping growing federal contractors achieve success. Former CFO of Johnston McLamb, Inc., of Chantilly, VA, David directed daily operations of treasury, accounting, budget, tax and audit activities for the IT consulting firm. He successfully guided Johnston McLamb’s sale to CRGT. Prior to that, he served as Chief Financial Officer of an IT professional services and software development firm that grew from $25 million in revenue to over $40 million during his two-year tenure.
David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He is active in the community, and is a member of the American Institute of CPA’s.
