Rodney Matsushima, CPCM

Rodney Matsushima is an Executive Vice President at Suntiva and is proud to have joined the company as employee number seven. He is a highly-regarded thought leader and acquisition expert with 35+ years of experience in government procurement. He is an expert on the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and a recognized industry leader in providing people, process, and technology solutions to a wide range of public sector procurement organizations. Before settling at Suntiva, he worked in senior leadership positions at management consulting and software firms, including American Management Systems (AMS), SAP, Digital Systems International Corporation (DSIC), and Procurement Automation Institute (PAI).
Achieving the designation as Acquisition Professional, he held responsible positions as a warranted Procuring and Administrative Contracting Officer (PCO and ACO) and as an adjunct professor at the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California teaching in the Acquisition and Contract Management curricula. He served for 20 years as an officer in the U.S. Navy Supply Corps, specializing in Acquisition and Contract Management. Rodney is frequently called on to personally support critical government initiatives, such as the review of Hurricane Katrina procurements and his recent work for USAID developing and delivering customized Acquisition and Assistance courses to Foreign National and American staff at their more than 80 Worldwide Missions and Headquarters.
Rodney has a Bachelor’s Degree from Purdue University, and a Master’s Degree in Acquisition and Contract Management from the Navy Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. He is Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level III certified in Contracting, was recognized as a National Contract Management Association (NCMA) Fellow and serves on the NCMA Board of Directors.
